RESUME + BIO

Haley Mitchell (she, her) is a performing artist based in New York City. She is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Dance and a minor in Child and Adolescent Psychology. At NYU, she had the privilege of working with artists such as Bebe Miller, Annie Rigney, Pau Aran Gimeno, and Angie Pittman. Haley is passionate about performance, choreography, and teaching — she uses her upbeat personality and willingness to encourage confidence among those in any process with her. She is spirited by performance art, jazz dance, painting, multi-media art, anything that makes her laugh, and anything her wonderful community of friends and artists creates. Last summer she joined the Verdon Fosse Legacy in their 6-week Professional Training Program, where she learned from legends such as Elizabeth Parkinson and Dylis Croman, and also where she was introduced to the wonderful world of Jack Cole technique as passed down from Cam Loeser and Eliza Ohman whom she joined in London last Fall for their three-week Jazz Dance Program. She is currently working towards becoming a Comprehensively Certified Pilates Instructor and is excited to begin teaching Pilates this Summer. As a choreographer herself, she is passionate about movement from a place of joy and freedom, first; she is interested in how jazz dance can shift and shape new worlds in space for the audience, with its subtleties and concise details being at the forefront.
